Impart Ltd was formed in early 2013 and specialises in helping organisations win business and develop a more proactive, robust and strategic approach to their business development activity. We complement and enhance clients’ in-house resources and develop their capabilities to help them achieve sustained, long-term growth and success.
We have an extensive customer base, whose turnovers range from £500 thousand to £6 billion, including start-ups and global household names, across multiple sectors such as healthcare, information technology, professional services, legal, telecommunications, rail, construction / civil engineering and manufacturing.
Our team comprises professionals who have a wealth of tendering and business development expertise. Meet the team
Richard Tobias | Director
As Impart’s founder and Managing Director, Richard oversees all client engagement and ensures they receive the highest quality service.
He has previously held various senior sales and commercial roles in the private sector with companies including Siemens and Atos. During his career Richard has successfully led a number of large and commercially complex opportunities, experiencing first-hand the importance of a proactive and structured approach to business development and tendering.
Outside of work Richard has his hands full – his four children keep him busy and he has a keen interest in football, films and music.
Simon Esbach | Director
Prior to joining Impart in 2014 as a director, Simon spent a number of years managing national sales teams for some of the UK’s most successful IT systems integrators.
As an advocate of proactive consultative selling and having an engineering background, Simon has a passion for understanding customers’ issues and helping to resolve them, building strong, long-term relationships with clients and colleagues in the process.
Away from the office he enjoys spending time with his family, watching football and walking his dog.
Mary Duggan | Bid Consultant

As a former occupational therapist, clinical manager and business improvement lead in the NHS, Mary has extensive clinical and service knowledge and plays an important part in Impart’s continuing success.
Mary also offers business, team and individual development support and coaching to public sector organisations and small businesses through Cockleshell Creative Coaching.
Ben Major | Associate Director
Having spent over a decade as an editor and writer at nationally respected media and publishing organisations, Ben advocates and executes Impart’s best practice approach to bid writing and reviewing. As part of his various roles, he has edited award-winning e-learning content and helped develop training materials for the new apprenticeship standards.
Outside of work, Ben enjoys spending time with his young family and reading and writing. He is also a published author and co-founder of an independent film studio.
James Sant | Bid Consultant
After graduating university with a degree in English Literature, James began his career as a bid writer within the healthcare sector in which he wrote compelling and successful bid responses. Using the skills he developed in this role, James brings a keen eye for detail when reviewing various tender responses across all sectors, ensuring that our best practice approach is applied.
Outside of work James has an appreciation for all things film and television, spending his free time reviewing shows and films alike, as well as listening to (and playing) music.
Kerry Baker | Bid Consultant
Having worked across various industries, such as estate agency, security and car rental, Kerry has a strong background in customer service.
With a degree in Law, she has the attention to detail and time management skills to help customers adhere to strict tender deadlines and produce compelling responses.
Outside of work, Kerry enjoys spending time with her children, running a local Brownie unit and reading.
Pia Dela Cruz | Bid Consultant
After pursuing her Master’s in English Literature, Pia worked as a bid writer within the education and training sector. Supplemented by her studies and experience in editing and publishing roles, she wrote and reviewed many successful tender responses. She now brings this experience to Impart, ensuring consistent application of our best practice approach across all sectors.
Outside of work, Pia enjoys reading, video games and (when inspiration strikes) writing poetry. She is also a volunteer editor for the British Asian Collective, a non-profit organisation which celebrates the Asian diaspora.
Ali Thompson | Bid Consultant

Ali Thompson is a graduate with BA and MA degrees in Literature. She has gained practical experience in research and editorial roles, notably as an editorial assistant at an immigration advice service and developed expertise in producing informative and accessible news content. Since joining Impart, Ali has applied her academic foundation in critical analysis to bid reviewing.
In her spare time, she enjoys permaculture gardening, live music, reading and getting out in the Dales.
Elly Carritt-Gurney | Bid Consultant
An avid reader and wordsmith, Elly fell into bid writing naturally, beginning her career in the security, construction and utilities sectors before joining Impart. Bids are a team effort, so Elly enjoys engaging one-on-one with customers, co-ordinating bids and keeping teams enthused about producing great content.
In her free time, Elly loves videogames, quiz shows, reading and playing the tin whistle.
